Brief description of GPS Triangle Contest for those who want to know what is all about.
It is competition of RC scale sailplanes (not exceeding 33% of ful scale glider size). They fly triangle course. In couple of first rounds pilot must make as many as possible triangles within 30 minutes time window. Last round is different, as pilot must fly just one triangle with highest speed he can. Of course for that speed task, model can accept some ballast, but he should not exceed highest wing loading margin (I think 118g/dm2)
Models are equipped with GPS on board. GPS data are transmitted down to the ground station, so pilot can fly on proper course. A helper is handy there, but not necessarry, to read data and direct pilot to taking proper heading, when he is over the turnpoinr, and when he is on the starting /finishing line.
