Описание:
Castleton Garland is held every year on the 29th of May, Oak Apple Day. Bunches of wildflowers and leaves are attached to the 3 foot wooden garland frame. A small wreath, made up from garden flowers and called “The Queen”, is placed on top of the garland.
Castleton Silver Band lead the King and his consort around the village, accompanied by the Maypole dancers, who entertain the crowds around the maypole after the procession.
The Queen is placed at the War Memorial at the end of the ceremony.
