Sonic Unleashed (PS3) All Jungle Joyride Day Acts Basic Speedruns

Описание: For the final section on Act 1-2 (the area around 5:55), the main reason I didn't take the faster shortcut similar to Act 1 is because of something I noticed regarding the final rail you grind on before the goal ring. It seemed when using this shortcut (even if you were to jump all the way to one of the green pieces of land), Sonic would be able to jump off the rail (as if he is in 3D). But for some reason, if you take the intended waterfall path, Sonic would not be able to jump off the rail (as if he is in 2D). I saw Joshua Salkeld use a neat timesaver after taking the intended waterfall path. The reason I didn't use it is because I jumped to a conclusion... bad idea. I assumed it would be similar to the faster shortcut I mentioned above in the sense that Sonic would be able to jump off the rail. I only decided to test it out AFTER I got the run (Again, bad idea, I should have tested that before the run and not just assumed.) and found that Sonic couldn't jump off. I was essentially treating being able to jump off as a 3D in 2D. I don't really think it was a big deal if I used the waterfall skip or not, this is just what I decided to do for this run. The waterfall route can also be seen as a good challenge for sub 3 I suppose. I went to go for another run with this timesaver, then gave up after a bit. I did however get a run with it that was slightly slower than this one overall and got a 2:54. Maybe I'll try again. Moral of the story: test things out you are wondering about before you do a run. Otherwise, you may end up like me and have to try to do things all over again or just live with the disappointment lol. The funny thing is, I already learned that kind of lesson a long time ago... I was just too stubborn. Not a good feeling. Another thing that I thought about is that it may technically be a 3D in 2D right after the interceptor chase. But I don't think anyone wants to go in 2D there. I didn't want to lol. For Act 4, I originally used the wall drift shortcut, then had second thoughts. I was gonna do the older speedrun route instead, but then decided to play the whole stage since I felt so much of it gets skipped and it's so short lol. Act 5 I got a new score PB unintentionally. I guess a basic run there sets you up for a decent score.
