De Nederlandse luchtvaart in de jaren '30

Описание: This movie, made from shots from about 10 other 16mm movies, shows how the aviation started in the Netherlands.

We start with an airtrip above the airpot Schiphol in the beginning of the 30's. On the ground we can see the planes coming over and the marvelous arrival and departure-building from Schiphol, which is completely rebuild in the Dutch museum for Aviation, the Avidodrome on Airport Lelystad.

We see the PH-AFL, a prototype aircraft. with the Dutch name "Leeuwerik", which made it's first flight on december 5th, 1930 and crashed on april 6th, 1935 in Brilon, Germany.

Passengers for New York are going to fly with the PH-AFA, Dutch name for it is "De Adelaar" and aircraft PH-AGA with the Dutch name "Rembrandt" is taxiing.

Then a big plan from Imperial Airways London with registration G-AAXC is arriving on Schiphol with Prince George from England. His Majesty will fly with a plane from KLM to Copenhagen.

In June 1932, the "Graf Zeppelin" arrives on Schiphol.

We see a view on the KLM-fleet and the arrival of the Royal Dutch Family on Schiphol.

We go by boat, the Statendam, to New York to visit an airshow and after that to the Dutch East Indies, to be witness of the arrival of the Uiver in Medan.
On board of the Statendam we see the entertainment on board. When arrived in New York we see several street-images from New York in the 30's and yes, it looks like a gangster-movie with all these old cars. On the airshow we see a strange airplane with propellors, maybe the first helicopter ever and we see the Dutch airplane-builder Anthony Fokker, showing his latest creation on the show.

When we arrive in Medan, it is very busy on the airport and preparations are made for the arrival of the Uiver on november 14th, 1934. Everybody is waiting with excitement when the plane is coming. On a billboard there is an announcement that the Uiver has left Singapore and is expected on 16:10 in Medan. A band plays music in the meantime. Finally the Uiver, with registration PH-AJU, arrives and lands on Medan. The crew steps out, K.D. Parmentier as captain, J.J.Mol as First Officer, Bouwe Prins as mechanic and C. van Brugge as the Radio-Operator (Marconist).

The next day the plane is brought out the hanger by hand, is loaded and leaves Medan and this is the end of the movie.
