Many people live here and depend on agriculture for their livelihood. They grow vegetables and green leafy crops and sell them in local and wholesale markets across New Delhi.

Life here is very difficult because there are no proper basic facilities. People do not have proper washrooms, and there is no electricity. Despite these hardships, agriculture from this area plays a very important role in the economy—without vegetables, daily life cannot function. That’s why the government should provide basic facilities to the people of Yamuna Khadar.

Some local people also shared that outsiders come and create problems, trying to force them out of their homes. Even though the locals have voter ID cards and vote regularly, they still face insecurity.

Every year during floods, the Yamuna overflows and people are forced to take shelter under flyovers. This happens every year, and if you are from Delhi, you may have seen this situation before.

In the Yamuna Khadar area, crops like methi, sarson, palak, onion, and other vegetables are grown and supplied to markets all over Delhi.
