Police are alarmed by the surge in catalytic converter thefts, police have said it only takes about a minute for a converter to be cut off of a car. Catalytic converters are being stolen for the precious metals inside that can be scrapped for money. An employee of a neighboring business said he saw someone under the car with a saw and jack, he ran over and discovered that the man had been fatally crushed.
