I love Chiang Mai, but WTF!
This time of the year is definitely my least favourite – it’s extremely hot (up to +42) and very polluted.
If you came from a big city (I used to live in Bangkok 🇹🇭and Ho Chi Minh 🇻🇳 right before that), at first you might not even notice the pollution part much. But as the time passes by it builds up because the period with bad air is quite long and on some days much worse than anywhere else in the world.
So you might start coughing, sneezing, notice sore throat, have irritation in eyes or difficulties with breathing 😮💨
It happens every year, so people kinda just try to get used to it: go out and hang out outside less, limit or exclude hiking or other outside physical activities.
When raining season comes it’s all gets better and sky turns blue again.
