Who cares if indicted George Santos lied about being Jewish?

Описание: Recently indicted New York Congressman George Santos said he was Jewish and that his grandparents survived the Holocaust. When asked to explain his lies, Santos said he didn’t mean he was Jewish — he meant he was Jew-ish and raised Catholic.

Does it matter if George Santos claims he’s Jewish or Jew-ish, or whatever he identifies as? I want to tell you why I think it matters — why Jewish identity really matters and is not something to trivialize.
