Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System with Sway Control. This is going to help level out your tow vehicle and trailer as you're towing so that your weight of your trailer is evenly distributed between all the axles of your tow vehicle and your trailer. So you're not gonna have that as squatting down in the rear of your tow vehicle like you typically do when you just have the weight of the trailer pushing down on your hitch ball. So this is going to give you a lot more control and comfort as you're towing. It's going to allow you to have less sway because of the built-in sway control.
So again, a lot more control as you're going down the road. Some of our customers have even said that the system helps them feel like they're not towing a trailer when they are. So I can't guarantee you're gonna have that good of an experience, but it should be improved over what you're currently experiencing if you don't have a weight distribution system. One of the many key features of this system is that it's gonna use these chains. So unlike some of your other weight distribution systems, that will require you to get out, disconnect the system, before you can back up your trailer, this system will allow you to stay connected and still back up your trailer.
So it's gonna be a lot more convenient for you. But the main criteria to determine if this is gonna work for you or not is gonna be the weight capacity. So this has a gross towing weight of 10,000 pounds. That is the weight of the trailer plus the load included. It's going to have an optimal tone weight range from 750 to 1,000 pounds.
That is the weight being pushed down on your hitch ball here. So make sure that that's gonna work for your trailer. We do have several different SwayPro models for different weights. So you wanna make sure that you're getting the one that's gonna work for you. The spring arms are really the changeable feature of them.
So the head and shank and everything is pretty much gonna be the same, but the spring bars are gonna be a little bit different from model to model. And if your system is ready for too higher weight, it's gonna be very rigid for your trailer. If your trailer is a lot heavier than the weight range, that's going to basically max out the system and you're not gonna get the benefits of it. So you do wanna make sure that weight range fits your trailer. This is going to fit right into your 2-inch by 2-inch trailer hitch receiver. You do wanna make sure that your hitch is rated for use with weight distribution systems because not all of them are. Obviously, you don't want to put more weight on there than the hitch can handle. And with that in mind, always make sure that your tow vehicle, your hitch, your weight distribution system, are all aligned. That you're using the lowest number that they're all rated for because your system is only as strong as the weakest link. So you never wanna max out or exceed any of those weight ratings. But like I said, this is gonna slide right into your trailer hitch receiver. It's got a standard pin and clip to keep it from working its way out of your hitch. You can switch this out for a locking pin. We've got those available here at etrailer.com. If you're wanting a little bit more security so that someone can't come along and take off your system. This is going to fit your trailer hitch receivers that have a nine-inch depth. So we've got nine inches from the center of our pin hole, here to the center of our adjustment holes. From the center of our pin hole up to this gusset, that's right about four inches. That make sure that pin hole is going to allow you to get hooked up with your trailer hitch. I have seen some customers have to switch this out for a deeper shank because of their hitch, but that is also available here at etrailer.com. So if you need to, you can switch that out. It is sold separately, but make sure that that's gonna work for you. This shank does allow us to adjust where our head unit is going to attach. So you can see we've got these different holes along here. What's going to allow us to raise or drop our head unit to make sure that it's gonna be level with our trailer. So from the top inside edge of our receiver tube, we're just gonna be the top of our shank here to about where our coupler is going to sit. Once we have it connected to the ball here, and when we have it in t
