Teen dramas are a genre that changes all the time. When you look at a teen drama from 20 years ago, and you compare it to now, you'll see a huge difference. However, no mater how much they change, they seem to be making the same mistakes all over again.
There are so many Teen Dramas out there, and from the list I'm going to give you, I want you to try to notice the similarities in all of theses.
90's teen dramas: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dawsons Creek. Beverley Hills, 90210, Roswell, Felicity,. To me, teen dramas made during this era were not that appealing, they kind of just stuck with the casual stuff without having fun with it, but don't worry, the 00s have something coming.
00s teen dramas: The O.C. (It's amazing, Seth Cohen is enough, Gossip Girl, Skins, Degrassi, One Tree Hill, Friday Night Lights, Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars,The Secret Life of an American Teenager. (Amazing era, arguably one of my favorites. Weirdly enough, I sort of love how fake everything feels, takes away from feeling real life pressure.
10s teen dramas: Glee, Vampire Diaries, The 100, Atypical, switched at Birth, The Fosters,13 Reasons Why Legacies, The originals, Teen Wolf, Riverdale, Shameless, Pretty Little Liars, On My Block (This is definitely the era where writers started to realize that the barely wanted the scenes to focus in schools. Not my favorite era,but it produced some solid shows. One of my favorite shows was canceled, that sucked!
20s teen dramas: Euphoria, Grand Army, Ginny and Georgia, I am Not Okay With This (Okay, lets be fair, we are still pretty early in the decade, but I like the serious tones! Hoopefully they keep it up).
