I got the chance to get a little personal with this segment and talked about the Japanese half of my heritage. My great aunt recently turned 90 and in honor of that her daughters had shirts made carrying our family crest, which is also called a "kamon". In Japanese culture the kamon is passed on through the female side of the family.
My kamon is "Mitsu Cho" (three butterflies) and I share an example of a well known kamon.
