SARAJEVO'S ABANDONED OLYMPIC BOBSLED TRACK | Bosnia & Herzegovina Travel Vlog

Описание: In 1984, Sarajevo hosted the Winter Olympic games. One of the famous events of the games was the bobsled race which was done on Mount Trebević, right outside of the city.

Just eight years following the games, the city of Sarajevo was under siege and the track was turned into a military base for the Serb forces. The track now serves as a monument to two of the cities most influential moments in modern history. It is truly an incredible sight to see as it has now been taken over by graffiti artists and the surrounding nature. In this video we take a hike to the track and admire the artwork and greenery all around.

In an effort to capture some of the amazing scenery, Marshall was flying our drone and accidentally caught it on a tree branch, causing it to fall on the sidewalk. No big deal. Just pick it up and get along with the hike. Unfortunately, after crashing, the drone decided to full throttle upward at a diagonal angle and hit another tree - on the other side of the track. Being nervous about leftover mines from the war, we had some reservations about climbing over the track to fetch it in the forest. Luckily, after some talks with our host, who in turn talked to the police, we were able to confirm the absence of mines and retrieve it.
