STORYLINE:
The 48th edition of the Moscow International Film Festival has opened in the Russian capital, featuring a program dominated by Russian productions alongside entries from dozens of other countries.

In total, the festival brings together participants from 43 countries and includes around 200 films.

The Main Competition features films from 10 countries: Italy, Russia, Spain, the Republic of Korea, Argentina, Mexico, Iran, Mongolia, China and India.

Sri Lankan filmmaker Prasanna Vithanage, one of South Asia’s most prominent directors, is serving as chair of the festival jury.
