Insurance companies don't just hire actuarial interns because there's so much work to do.
The REAL reason is that they want to test them out!
For example, a company can bring on 30 new actuarial interns that they think would be great potential entry-level candidates. And from there, they can see which of those candidates they like working with the best!
So, an actuarial internship isn't just a chance for you to gain experience and learn new skills, it's actually like a 10 (or more) week interview for you!
Keep this in mind, because it's extremely common for companies to hire entry-level actuaries directly from their intern pool!!
