Qawwali is a form of Sufi devotional music native to South Asia, with a tradition dating back more than 700 years. It is an utterly sublime and otherwordly experience. When conceptualised correctly, balanced and attuned maturely in a broader framework - it is nothing short of a manifestation of Love itself.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (1948-1997) was the undisputed 'King of Qawwali', also know as 'The Maestro'- bringing the genre mainstream popularity and international exposure through his unsurpassed talent, skill and passion.

This video shows Nusrat discussing the history, evolution, components and power of Qawwali - as well as discussing some aspects of his personal life.

It is immensely valuable because it is none other that the greatest Qawwal of them all, Nusrat himself, detailing this sublime form of divine adoration.
