A retaining wall method using pre-cast H- or Y-shaped RCC blocks that effectively mitigates landslides and prevents vehicles from falling into gorges. A prototype was successfully implemented at an accident prone turn in Ambenali Ghat, District Raigad, Maharashtra, under the supervision of the PWD. Notably, since its installation (May 2022) three years ago, there have been no major accidents or structural failures reported in the area.
This innovation was presented at the 81st Annual Session of the Indian Road Congress in October 2022, and has received international patents, affirming its potential for global deployment.
