Here’s an inside look at what a Lipedema consultation is like with Dr. Jaime Schwartz.
This patient was diagnosed with Lymphedema at a young age. After noticing she also had many Lipedema symptoms, she sought out a formal diagnosis.
Symptoms of Lipedema are tenderness and pain in the affected area, a disproportionate figure, fat that is unaffected by exercise and diet and even brain fog and lethargy.
While Lymphedema and Lipedema are two different disorders, Lipedema may progress into Lymphedema if not treated at its early stages. With Lipedema, over time, the fat begins to block the vessels of the lymphatic system, preventing proper drainage of lymph fluid, potentially leading to the buildup of fluid that is Lymphedema.
