The Confederation of African Football has come under intense scrutiny after announcing Morocco as the new 2025 Africa Cup of Nations champions. The decision, made by CAF’s Appeals Board on Tuesday night, ruled that Senegal forfeited the final, awarding the match to Morocco with a 3–0 scoreline. Senegal’s government has since called for an independent international inquiry into alleged corruption within CAF.
