Stockton opens Inspiration Park, honors fallen officer and fire captain

Описание: A long-awaited new public space, Inspiration Park, has officially opened in north Stockton. City leaders invited the community to a ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony at the park, located on Westlake Drive. The park is now open to the public and includes large turf areas for athletics and leisure, electric vehicle charging, picnic areas, and a full basketball court.
As part of the opening, the City of Stockton honored two fallen public safety officials. Stockton Police Officer Jimmy Inn, a six-year department veteran, was killed in 2021 while responding to a domestic violence call. Stockton Fire Captain Vidal “Max” Fortuna, a 21-year veteran, was killed in 2022 while battling a fire in downtown Stockton. City officials said the dedication recognizes their service and sacrifice while celebrating a new community gathering space.
