Forty million Americans live with migraine and other complex headache conditions. Yet headaches receive just 0.2 percent of NIH funding. Jimmy Pang knows this story personally.

As a chronic headache patient and physical therapist, Jimmy lives inside the very system he is working to change. He understands the blurred diagnostic lines, the frustration of endless appointments, and the quiet stigma that follows invisible illness. But instead of shrinking back, he stepped forward. Recently returning from Washington, DC, Jimmy joined more than 300 advocates lobbying for the Headache Act, the Safe Step Act, and expanded telehealth access so patients in rural communities are not left behind.

Through his systems-based approach, Jimmy looks beyond the head and neck. He explores eye movement dysfunction, vestibular imbalance, autonomic nervous system regulation, and the subtle neurological clues most people never see. Sometimes treatment looks like retraining vision. Sometimes it is standing on a foam pad. Sometimes it is simply being believed.

This conversation is not just about headaches. It is about visibility. It is about dignity. It is about fighting for proportional research funding when 40 million lives are impacted. It is about restoring quality of life to people in their twenties and thirties who should be building careers and families, not navigating emergency rooms.
