In late 2024, coal miners across West Virginia were hopeful. Donald Trump had just been confirmed for a second term as the president of the United States and the promise was clear: coal was about to be made "great again".
Fast forward almost a year later and West Virginia's coal mining industry is getting OBLITERATED. With hundreds of layoffs across the state, WV is by far one of the most impacted states, mainly due to uncertainties surrounding tariffs, keeping market prices low.
While hope remains and things could change for the best very quickly, the currently situation is scary for coal miners in West Virginia, who have no clue when - or if - the market will operate an uptrend move.
Out of respect for people in the state, this is a video explaining what's currently going on in coal country.
