When the new priest Joseph Steinkasserer moved into the small, sleepy, deeply religious village of Saint Gertraud, he was immediately welcomed with open arms.
He is so different from his predecessor. More human, more approachable & he looks so wonderfully harmless with his horn-rimmed glasses and brown curls.
Always by his side & living with him in the vicarage: his housekeeper Luise Platzgummer.

But one night, the vicar suddenly turns up at the nearby Goldstar tavern and reports that he has been attacked and robbed at home.
The body of the housekeeper is found in the vicarage. She has been murdered.
And so begins an investigation that will bring the priest's darkest secrets to light…
