Remove the Old Fork:
Take off the front wheel.
Loosen the stem bolts and remove the handlebars.
Unscrew the headset top cap and remove the spacers.
Slide the old fork out of the head tube.
Prepare the New Fork:
Measure the steerer tube length on the new fork. Cut it to the desired length using a hacksaw or pipe cutter1.
Install the star nut into the steerer tube using a tool or a bolt and mallet.
Slide the stem onto the steerer tube, followed by any necessary spacers.
Install the New Fork:
Insert the new fork into the head tube.
Slide the upper crown race and upper cap onto the steerer tube.
Add headset spacers as needed.
Push the fork up to remove any play and fit the stem. Tighten the stem bolts.
Reattach the brake caliper to the fork.
Install the front wheel and adjust the headset bearings.
