KC Presents - EAS Scenario #5: Nuclear Implosion

Описание: Hello everybody, and welcome to the latest edition of my Emergency Alert System Scenario Series, my fifth video entitled "Nuclear Implosion". I had wanted to get a new EAS mock out for a while now, but I just couldn't think of anything that was totally original in nature. In the last few weeks, I ended up thinking of two original ideas, and this is the first of them. I had planned to release this one last week, but I ended up having a computer crash that forced me to start over. In the end, having to start over was a good thing, as I was able to fix a few things that I wanted to fix before release anyway.

There are many times all over the world, in which buildings are demolished. Sometimes it is because of new construction, other times it may be due to a health hazard, and on occasion, even bringing an existing structure up to code because of new health codes would be easier if the building was rebuilt from scratch. Most of the time, the use of a wrecking ball is sufficient to get the structure to the ground, but in some cases, explosives are used to implode the building from the inside out, and in nearly all of these cases, the process goes on without a problem.

But what if there was a problem with the demolition process that was so severe, that it effected the lives of tens of thousands of people? Even worse, what if by the time it was discovered that there was something not quite right, it was already too late to reverse the process? That is what this video is about.

I made some attempts to create different video displays when compared to scenarios that I have done previously. The first set of screens mimics the look of those retro "Community Bulletin Board" channels that every cable system seemed to have in the 1980s and 1990s. I was visiting my dad in his apartment complex about 2 weeks ago, and when I was channel surfing traditional television channels, it turned out that his apartment complex offered a similar channel for information about the building. So I thought I would create a fake one for the start of this video. Aside from the typical "black" EAS screen used, I also used a traditional "blue bar" style screen, as well as two situations in which the radio was used as opposed to the television.

It should be noted that the situation shown in this video, while not based on an actual event, is inspired by a real life demolition in name only. A while back, the location where the epicenter of this video takes place really did have a building knocked down, but not by means of explosives. Remember that this is a story of fiction, so not all events are accurate to real life situations. Because this is a work of fiction, remember that any similarities between any real life persons (living or dead), physical locations, landmarks, products and situations that are found within this scenario are purely coincidental.

This project contains actual Specific Area Message Encoder (S.A.M.E.) headers and footers that are used to engage actual Emergency Alert System activations. As a method of preventing an accidental or intentional real life EAS activation, multiple tones for different events are played at the same time, as a method of distortion. While this process may or may not prevent an actual activation of EAS equipment, it should be noted that using this video to enable a real EAS activation is punishable by fines or imprisonment. Do not play this video in full or in part on any radio or television stations equipped with Emergency Alert System devices. The creator of this video is not responsible for any actual activations that may occur by playing this presentation over traditional airwaves.

I work full time, go to school, and ironically have a radio program at my college twice a week.
