PENTARAMA Merdeka Brings Patriotism and Unity To Malaysia's Independence Day and Malaysia Day 2026

Описание: KUALA LUMPUR, 22 August 2026 – The Department of Information Malaysia (JAPEN) continues to intensify efforts to enliven the 31-August Independence Day and 16-Sep Malaysia Day 2026 (Hari Kebangsaan Dan Hari Malaysia) celebrations through the PENTARAMA Merdeka@HOHO program, which takes place at several focal locations around the city of Kuala Lumpur.

The program, concepted as a city tour using the KL Hop-On Hop-Off (KL HOHO) double-decker bus, targets the involvement of over 4, 000 members of the public through two implementation series by bringing live performances from cultural artists and PENTARAMA musicians.

The first series on 22 August 2026 started at SOGO Kuala Lumpur, continuing to the Petronas Twin
Towers and ending at Pavilion KL.

Meanwhile, the second series scheduled for 12 September 2026 will begin at Dataran Merdeka, followed by Sungei Wang Plaza, and end at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

In addition to performances, the Jalur Gemilang (National flag) is also distributed to the public to
encourage the flying of the flag through the 1 House 1 Jalur Gemilang (1R1JG) nitiative under JAPEN.The PENTARAMA Merdeka@HOHO program was first introduced in 2024 and continues this year as one of the side programs of HKHM 2026, carrying a message of patriotism, togetherness, and unity to the community.
