So I headed up to the Shoalhaven river Oallen ford, NSW again
The river is a bit higher than normal after last weekend rain, up about half to a full meter higher.
So Saturday I did 14 half 20lt buckets classified down to 15mm ( bloody cheep 20lt buckets braking the handles with a bit over half full ).
The first lot of 7 buckets I sluiced near where I would normally set up, working well at the start, but by the end I have noticed the flow down the sluice was all most not running.
The Second lot of 7 buckets, I went down under the bridge. Water flow was much faster.
Then up early Sunday & did 4 half buckets, classified/screened down to 5mm mesh size & down to the river to run it thought the sluice.
So the lower classified/screen size the More sand & less rocks to sluice & more gold to volume of digging ratio.
When I pan the heavy’s down to the black sand & gold, I collect it up into a container to be cleaned with the Miller table later at home.
Back home I cleaned the black sand out & ended up with 0.14g of gold about $18.54
Its a start
I have 1 more weekend free this year for prospecting, so the total for the year is not going to be much at all.
Any way who’s counting really ? I am still learning
Thanks for watching
