In August 2018 I had the opportunity to deliver a Keynote on the Future of Dispute Resolution Professionals at the opening ceremony of the IBA-VIAC Consensual Dispute Resolution Competition (CDRC).
In this Keynote, I shared three predictions:
1. The emergence of two types of dispute professionals
(i) traditional (process) experts
(ii) dispute managers
2. A revolution of the education and continued training
3. The use of technology complementing, not replacing professionals
These predictions are based on my understanding of Dispute Management which I base on the following four pillars:
1. Expert knowledge & skill
2. Analytical tools
3. Efficiency tools
4. Communication
