FROZEN 🥶 Winter Mountain Camp on CRAG HILL Exploring Force Crag Mine Hilleberg Nammatj 2 ⛄️😎

First camp of 2025 and it’s winter time in the Lake District. I park in Braithwaite village and hike up to Force Crag mine, a very strange place in beautiful surroundings.
I then make my way up to Crag Hill but take a detour to explore some old mine ruins and then another detour to view the amazing water fall that runs down into the mine below.
Once back on track I collect water before going up onto Crag Hill home for the night. I pitch the tent just as the sun is setting and the temperature starts to really plummet. It’s a cold and very windy night, my water is freezing and batteries are dying. After a very sleepless night I break camp and make my way back down a very frozen Crag Hill. Enjoyable first camp of 2025 cold temperatures, windy conditions, tied from lack of sleep but loved it all the same.

Camping and Hiking in the Mountains is an amazing experience. Being in the outdoors is very good for the mind, body and the soul. However the weather in the Lake District can change very quickly from a calm sunny day to totally clagged in and freezing cold.
