I’m Mohamed Riyaz Ahamed, a AI&ML student from Saveetha Engineering College.
Our project is called "Signify AI."
It aims to help the hearing-impaired community by addressing the lack of real-time sign language interpretation on digital platforms.
The problem:
Many platforms don’t offer sign language support, and current solutions are either expensive or require human interpreters.
Our solution:
We’re building an AI-powered video bot (Vidbot) that translates text and speech into sign language videos in real-time. A 3D avatar will perform the sign language, making communication easier and more inclusive.
How it works:
We use Natural Language Processing (NLP) and speech recognition to understand spoken or written words.
Our AI then converts this into sign language, which is shown through the 3D avatar.
Technology we use:
TensorFlow for machine learning.
Google Speech-to-Text API for converting speech to text.
Blender for creating the 3D animations.
Future plans:
We plan to add more sign languages, starting with American Sign Language (ASL).
Impact:
We believe Signify AI can break communication barriers and make a real difference for the hearing-impaired.
