Thousands of protesters in Istanbul have defied an official ban, taking to the streets for a third consecutive day to demonstrate support for the city's arrested mayor, Ekrem Imamoglu. Opposition leader Ozgur Ozel claimed more than three hundred thousand people joined marches across Istanbul, despite roads and bridges being blocked by authorities. Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu was arrested on Wednesday under charges related to alleged corruption and links to terror organizations.
