In this guitar lesson, Anders will show you hybrid picking.

Hybrid picking is another way to use your fingers to pick while also picking normally. Hybrid picking is super helpful in a lot of country music and in general rhythm playing. Again, the main draw to hybrid picking is picking a note with your pick, but also accenting that with your second, third and pinky fingers.

It takes a little bit of practice to at first, but this fingerpicking technique is a great way to add a lot of variety to your playing. Anders will show you a few different ways to play and practice hybrid picking, like playing it with power chords. Try it yourself.
