Seen here is a ride on a R62A 6 train bound for Bowling Green.
Due to track maintenance, 6 trains aren’t running to Pelham Bay Park for the next three weekends, as it was truncated to Parkchester in its rush hour terminal. For service to Pelham Bay Park, shuttle buses were provided to Pelham Bay Park for extra courtesy. Also, 6 trains ran express downtown to Grand Central-42nd Street all due track maintenance, customers who needed bypassing local stops would have to go to Grand Central and transfer to an uptown 6 train.
Also, 6 trains were extended to Bowling Green due to station maintenance on the loop tracks. I was able to stay on after Bowling Green since it was going back on the uptown track at Bowling Green, and saw the abandoned South Ferry loop station as it was abandoned since it was closed down again in 2017.
Please note: Even though subway service is normal again at this time, we still have to be social distant from each other, even when on the subway or the buses. However, the subway will still be closed from 1 A.M. to 5 A.M. So if you’re planning on riding the subway or the bus, wash your hands from home before leaving, maintain a social distance of six feet from others, wear a mask as you head out in public, and in case you need to adjust your mask, wear some gloves when adjusting. Enjoy!
*UPDATE: subway service is now 24 hours as of May 17,2021.
