The Roland MDX-20 machine is a good, solid engraving/milling machine. Unfortunately the main control board failed a couple of years ago and replacement boards are very hard to find and very expensive. Having a need for the machine to make the front and rear panels for the CleaveTech Power Supplies, it was time to update the control system with new electronics.
An Arduino based GRBL controller is now in place and controls the 3 axis stepper motors and spindle. Next up is the fitting of limit switches for homing and safety along with the final tidy up of wiring.
