"The people that I know who are truly happy, they find happiness with nothing. They don't need anything to be happy. It's not that something is going to make them happy. If you need something to make you happy, it leads to 1000 other things that you think will make you happy and it doesn't end. if you're happy with nothing, if nothing makes you happy, you don't need 1000 more things. You don't need anything. So one is a path of multiplication that is endless and exhausts you in your seeking for something outside of you. The other is a path of immediacy, and that's the real happiness. Because happiness that depends on other things, external things, it doesn't stand its own ground, doesn't stay with you. But if you find this happiness that doesn't stand on anything, it doesn't lean on anything that swells up from within you like a spring, then you don't need to go anywhere to look for it. You don't need anything more to find it. And it's simple. It is simplicity.”
