On Wednesday, December 17th, we docked at Williemstad, Curacao. There were lots of vendor tents and stores at the cruise port. The city had a fort from the 1600s and a floating bridge to connect us to another part of the city. We walked across that bridge and shopped at a local art store to buy a Christmas ornament for our tree. The buildings were vibrant colors and the city was bustling with tourists. We dined for lunch before returning to the boat. The restaurant was on the water and we had a great view. That evening, we attended a murder mystery show and my husband was asked to play one of the parts. He did great!
The next day, we docked at Oranjestad, Aruba. We rented a car to explore the island on our own. Once we left the downtown area, the island was very desolate and felt like we were in a 3rd world country. The lighthouse was under construction and the restaurant beside it closed just before we got to it. We ended up dining at a new restaurant right beside the cruise terminal. My husband said it was the best tuna he's ever eaten.
