The stock market has been volatile to start 2022, but it looks like we may see more of it for the rest of the year. Investors have already reacted quickly to the Fed planning to raise rates and the question that always follows that is when will balance sheet runoff begin. I think this will be the most important aspect of the market in 2022, so I decided to explain what balance sheet runoff is and how it relates to this modern day cycle. The process is fairly simple to understand and thankfully history gives us a guide to how the Fed should act. I go over how balance sheet run off in 2017 & 2019 played out and how it relates to today. This should bring market volatility in 2022, but it all depends on how Jerome Powell plays his cards. Either way, if you are in the know on these matters, you should have a leg up on a majority of the market. I HOPE YOU ARE READY!
