After the shocking confrontation in Part 2, the tension between Randy Orton and Triple H explodes on the next episode of WCW Monday Nitro.
🎬 Opening Segment – The Apex Predator Speaks
The show opens with the WCW United States Champion Randy Orton walking slowly to the ring, the WCW United States Championship over his shoulder. The crowd is loud as Orton grabs a microphone.
Orton says calmly:
“Last week… Triple H thought he could step into MY world. But this isn’t 1998 anymore. This is MY era… the era of the Viper.”
He reminds everyone that he has beaten legends, ended careers, and made a living out of striking when people least expect it.
Suddenly…
🎵 “Time to Play The Game!”
Triple H ’98 storms onto the stage, furious.
🎤 Triple H Fires Back
Triple H doesn’t enter the ring right away. He slowly circles it like a predator studying his prey.
Triple H says:
“You call yourself the Apex Predator… but I built my career destroying snakes.”
He tells Orton that championships don’t impress him—power does.
Triple H claims the WCW United States Championship is just the first step in his takeover of WCW.
Then he announces something shocking.
⚔️ Triple H Sets a Trap
Triple H reveals he convinced WCW management to put Orton in a handicap match tonight.
Randy Orton vs Two hand-picked opponents chosen by Triple H.
Triple H smirks and says:
“If you survive tonight… maybe you’re worthy of facing The Game.”
🥊 Main Event – Handicap Match
Randy Orton vs Triple H’s Enforcers
Triple H sits at commentary watching the match closely.
The match is chaotic. Orton is constantly double-teamed, but the Viper fights back with brutal precision:
Rope-hung DDT on one opponent
Perfect powerslam on the other
Crowd erupts when Orton hits an RKO outta nowhere
Orton wins the handicap match.
💀 The Game Strikes
Just as Orton celebrates…
Triple H slides into the ring with a sledgehammer.
Before Orton can react—
💥 SMASH to the ribs!
Triple H stands over the fallen champion and lifts the WCW United States Championship.
He looks down at Orton and whispers:
“Enjoy carrying this while you can… because The Game is about to take it.”
Triple H drops the title on Orton’s chest and leaves.
