Hello friends!
So, I decided to do a canvas stretching tutorial because I got a couple of requests for one. I stretch my own canvases for a couple of reasons. Number one: It's far more cost effective than buying ready stretched canvases. Number two: I prefer back stapled canvases over the splined canvases that are usually stocked in craft stores because I don't always trust their integrity.
I order my canvas rolls and stretcher bars from Blick Art.
*Quick Tip: If you have old paintings that you want to get rid of, just remove the canvas from the frame and stretch some new canvas on the old frame. Not only does this save money, but you are also not wasting a perfectly serviceable frame that is ready made!
