On 7th May 1999, during the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia, 5 bombs hit the Chinese embassy in Belgrade. The attack killed three Chinese reporters and outraged the Chinese public. The CIA later testified that they had identified the wrong coordinates, believing it to be the Yugoslav military target on the same street.
