This comes despite government efforts like promotions for headmasters (as per recent data: ~2,585 out of 4,849 govt high schools lack headmasters) and broader teacher vacancies reported in thousands (e.g., over 6,000 in high schools per earlier disclosures). Saunta criticized the administration for inaction, highlighting how this affects students, especially in rural and tribal areas like his constituency in Koraput district. The issue has sparked calls for urgent mass recruitment and filling of promotional vacancies.
