We woke up at 6am knowing it would be a busy day as the heavy rains are approaching in about a week. After preparing breakfast, our neighbors joined us to help build a chicken coop and fix our houses. Inside the kitchen, we used soil to plaster the walls while women worked together, sharing the workload.

Later, we prepared waakye using soup from sorghum leaves a simple, nourishing meal that brought everyone together after a day of hard work.
