Rafael Martín is a professional baseball pitcher for the Saraperos de Saltillo of the Mexican Baseball League.
His journey to professional baseball was nothing shy of extraordinary. Rafael, Rafa for short, did not play college baseball. Following high school he went straight to work as a contractor in Fontana, Ca.
In 2007 he attended a tryout for the Saraperos de Saltillo and pitched in his first game that season. His 12 year career has span signings with the Washington Nationals and Mexican Baseball League. When you see him train there's no doubt he still has the hunger of a young unsigned kid who has nothing to loose and everything to prove.
