I love cows and Meska, our Pyrenean mountain dog doesn't usually mind them either, but when 100 odd (and bulls) started chasing us (after being cornered a good mile from the next field) today on our walk through a field (on a public footpath) in Sherfield-on-Loddon... we were a little freaked out, I gotta say!
I think we handled it quite well... "stay calm... calm please cows!".. but also big thanks to the random young lad that beckoned them away for us toward the end!
So there we were, just taking an innocent stroll; around a mile or so, across some fields, and the cows were completely on the other side. All of a sudden they all ran toward us as fast as they could, then stopped next to us and followed us.
We could have been trampled in a moment. If you're ever in the same situation (not that many are!) remember to keep calm.
