In this LearnElectrics video we will look at the wiring method of the Y Plan central heating system.
This follows on from a previous video that looked at the wiring methods adopted for the S plan system.
As you will see in the video, the two modes of operation are quite different.
The Y-Plan system remains a very common system, many millions of them have been installed over the years and you will come across them often. It uses only one 3 port valve, comprising one inlet and two outlets, and the system will allow for hot water heating and room heating together or individually.

We will look at the various parts that make up the system, look at how they work and then build up the whole system and see this working in several different heating phases.
