STORYLINE:
A Red Crescent aid convoy crossed the Syrian-Lebanese border at Deboussie on Sunday, heading for to southern Lebanon.
The 18 trucks are carrying medical supplies, food and clothes.
Doctors from Saudi Arabia are working with the team to bring relief supplies to civilians caught up in the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah militants.
The trucks are equipped with "all the major clinics from surgery, paediatric, medicine," according to Dr Saif Aldin Abu Zaid, the leader of the Saudi relief mission in Lebanon.
A member of the Red Crescent said humanitarian aid has been slow to reach people in need of help because " we cannot go inside Lebanon if we are not granted a full green light for the safe passage of our staff and of our trucks."
