Water Drop Microscope

Описание: In today’s experiment we have one of our volunteers, Tiffany, show us how to make a simple microscope to magnify objects using a water drop and magnifying glass. Convex lenses such as a water drop or magnifying glass help to magnify images. Convex lenses are used in microscopes to allow us to study a whole world of things invisible to the human eye, including bacterial cells and animal cells. Convex lenses are also used in eyeglasses and camera lenses. For this experiment, you’ll need a plastic water bottle, a recycled sheet of clear plastic (e.g., from a salad container), scissors, a marker, water, a magnifying glass, a dropper or paintbrush, and a specimen to observe (e.g., a leaf, a feather, a dead bug).
