Positioning for comfort is a support measure used to introduce comfort and control to patients during medical procedures, such as a blood draw.
Typically, caregivers are asked to “hold” their child in different positions that will not only increase coping, but increase the safety of you, your child, and your health care provider. It is important to remember to talk to your child about the nurse or health care team member “holding” in order to increase ease.
