Umananda temple is a Shiv temple located at the Umananda island (peacock island) in the middle of river Brahmaputra.
It is known as smallest inhabited riverine island in the world. The mountain on which the temple has been built is known as Bhasmachal. It is built in 1694CEi in the order of King Gadadhar Singha.
Th presiding deity of the temple is Umananda. The surrounding of the temple and the divine but understated Beauty of the island make it heaven for nature lovers.
