The federal annuity is based upon creditable service X the high-3 average salary X a formula. Some money you earn is included in the high-3; some isn't.
NOTE: I made a typo on my included/excluded slides which wasn't brought to my attention until over two years after this video aired. I'm not going to take it down. Rather, I'll note the error here.
I inadvertently included Performance Pay for Title 38 Physicians and Dentists on both the inclusion and exclusion list. Market Pay for these employees is included; Performance Pay is not.
