After a long week of work, stress, and rushing through life, I had the chance to slow down. The weather was perfect, the sky was clear, and Matlacha Pass was calling. I didn’t catch any fish this time — but that wasn’t the point.
This trip was about disconnecting from the noise and reconnecting with myself.
The tide was moving, the wind was calm, and the quiet of the mangroves felt like therapy. Even running aground and dealing with foot pain couldn’t take away from the peace of the evening. Sometimes the water gives you exactly what you need… even when the fish don’t.
